The main thing is that you were O.K. Happened to me last Nov at Falcon. 6:30am, cloudy, cool and speared 7 or 8 waves before we got out of it. Caught us by surprise while crossing in front of school bus cove. Broke the graph off of the RAM mount, broke all but one fastener of the windshield and drenched me and my son even though we had full rain gear on. The water went right down our necks with full force. Ironic thing was I had recently thought about stowing a set of dry clothes in the boat but did not actually do it. Trust me I learned my lesson the hard way.

Yep. Been there a couple times on Fork. It is a scary experience. Fishing is not worth losing your life.

When you spear a wave and you have a inflate life vest and it gets wet and blows up that is whats funny . I speared a wave last year and my partner had a high dollar life vest I heard a pop and looked over and it had inflated .lol

Yeah I've been through it twice. Once on LOP and once in OK on Broken Bow. Luckly no equipment was on the deck at those times but did have to refasten the trolling mototr back down after the bolts did a number to the fiberglass.

yeah, we usually stow everything, caught us by surprise coming out of Tigers, before we could turn around we were in it, once your in it you gotta keep going lol. Dry sweat suit in those big vacuum bags is a item that stays in the boat during the cold times of the year.

A guy from my RV park speared one Sat. on Fork that knocked his poles loose and when he tried to get them the next wave took him and the rods over the side and after ten minutes of swimming he finally caught the boat, he did have his vest on.

I speared a couple Friday on Lewisville. It was not fun at all. I just turned the bilge on, grabbed my life jacket, and gunned it for shore. Won't be doing that again.
