Happened for the first time yesterday on Ray Roberts on the way to the weigh in. Thankful it was a warm day and the water was not too cold.

Those consoles do not keep you dry except for your gas pedal foot!

Deeply religous experience!

Don't panic, dang sure don't stop the motor, turn the bilge on, and keep on trucking!

Bout all you can do. Unfortunately, I've done it 3 times.

BTW, it's a very unsettling sight to be in ankle deep water in your boat!

How'bout waist deep? Make sure those floor drains and bilge pumps are working.

I haven't had it happen to me yet but it never hurts to soak in as much information as possible. Thanks

Had it happen once at Falcon last year. Water temp was 58 degrees. It reminded me of getting knocked on your can by a wave at the beach that you didn't see coming. Not fun!

We speared 3 in a row on Falcon back in early March, first one cleared the deck of the rods, 2nd one took out the windshields, headed for the shore after that one, took the 3rd trying to reach shore.........Say a prayer and keep your foot in it and hope your pumps can keep up, front snuck up on us when we where in the Tigers and had to get back to State Park ramp. Falcon can get nasty quicker than a hiccup......

Been there done that...biggest lesson learned? If the water is big enough that you are at risk of spearing one...all my gear goes back into compartments...especially my rods. And I'm not talking about just strapping them down to the deck. Expensive lessons!

That Tiger on Falcon is in the worst area of the lake and has done me in more than once. I finally learned that if I want to fish it and the weather report is even slightly iffy, launch there because there's no easy way home if you don't.
