Bought em and have yet to try them. After loosing several big fish in tournaments last year on treble hooks I bought some.....

I'll be using them starting this month....

Wouldn't your line twist before your crank bait got into "the locking position". Is that really why fish get off more on a crank bait? I always thought it was just due to the leverage of the larger baits. Not it "locking up".

I guess it all depends on how you hook the fish. Not sure. Still seems like a solid idea and good to have on to me!

I have a few Randy McAbee crankbaits that have them. I haven't noticed a difference one way or the other on hook-up ratio compared to the other crankbaits I use. I try to replace most of my crankbait hooks with KVD trebles, but thought I would keep the spintechs on for comparison purposes. I still need to catch more fish on the McAbee for a fair comparion, though. I've only been fishing with them for about a month.
