I RUN A MK 80LB ON A TR20 DOES JUST FINE. WISH I HAD A 101 DUE TO I FISH A LOT OF HEAVY GRASS AND PADS. CAN NOT HAVE TO MUCH POWER IN MY OP.

I have a Maxxum pro 80 on my 206, and no wishes for more batteries or weight, or thrust.....not an issue..

I've run both on my 1100 pound boat and there is a definite difference between the two.

The 80 works fine in most conditions and I feel like I could fish all day with it in almost all conditions. On a windy day it drags the batteries down enough that I would think it might have problems fishing 6 hours in a 15 mph wind.

The 101 is not that much faster but the batteries don't seem to go down in a days fishing. I like that part and I don't have to worry about that.

Also your batteries should last longer in a 3 battery setup. Batteries which discharge 40 percent will live much longer than those which are drawn down 50 percent per discharge.

What he said. I have a 20' ranger with 80lb. and wish I had a 101 36v. The 80 is usualy enough but on those 8-10 hr windy days my batteries are almost toast.

Since the new boat is rigged for the 101, I would keep it. I have an MK 80 on a ZX250 and if not for the cost of the new battery and charger with another bank, I would have already switched it. It's slooow in heavy wind and like someone before mentioned, I had a cell going bad and didn't know and the thing was just short of paddling in a recent tourni. With a 36 volt you can limp much better on 3 batteries and have the power to juice it in dead spots or across coves and can stay in one place if fishing a windy point with out eating up near as much battery life. Just my opinion though.
