Im so sick of finding trash too, everywhere I go I seem to find piles and piles of it. I pack a trash bag in my back pack and when im leaving a spot I'll fill it up. If more fisherman did this we could make a difference.
If people understood what was important in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles.

I think I know that place, I went there or a place simular and could not believe how trashed out it was, didn't think many people went back there.Sad, yes , but you can tell by trash left behind who is doing it and they don't even , ah screw it they're not reading this and they won't stop cause they don't even see anything wrong with what they're doing. To them it's just like back home, no rules, anything goes. You know who you are, tell your fellow man to stop trashing every place they go or else the fishing hole will eventually be closed down. One of my favorite places is threating to put up a fence because of the Coleman bottles getting caught in the power plant. IT'S NOT THAT HARD, U BROUGHT IT IN, U TAKE IT OUT ! Mel has nailed it. Somehow, they need to learn that this is not acceptable. I don't know how to teach them that, but it's going to take someone that these people will relate to explaining to them why we don't do that here. If someone from their own group would take the lead to break that cycle, and get the ball rolling, peer pressure from their own group might stop it. I doubt that it will ever stop though. It reminds me of the workplace restrooms in certain industries. We have real working, flushable toilets. These actually flush correctly and with proper system design to dump into a functional sanitary sewer system. Yet despite all the signs written in the language they speak, you still have to keep a cardboard box in the stall if you don't want used toilet paper piled up in the corner on the floor. They'll put it in a box if one is provided, or they'll put it on the floor, but it ain't going in that toilet and get flushed no matter how many signs you put up. Sadly, this makes me think that some things just can't be un-learned. And before someone jumps in and starts hollering racist, Yes I realize littering and trashing up the creek bank is not limited to any particular ethnic group. We have slob people of all races. But facts are facts and all you have to do is go out and walk the creek on most any halfway decent weather weekend to see who's doing 95% of what's shown in the above pictures.

Well I know exactly who you are talking about and it's sad because they will never care to clean up after themselves. If they cared they wouldn't do it in the first place. On a good note I fished a creek Sunday that's pristine you can tell these people have not made here (fingers crossed ) even the banks and the trees are untouched by humans.
I may be too sick to work but never to go fshng

A creek I was looking forward to crappie fishing in the spring was fenced and closed due to the trash at the creek and people using other parts of the area for a dump.

As a kid, if you knew someone, chances were you could fish or hunt on their place. Even before people started paying for the rights to hunt or fish, a lot of landowners stopped people from coming on their land because of these kind of idiots.
My Dad always told me we left nothing in our wake but tracks. If someone before us left trash, out of respect of our priviledge to be on the land, we picked up the trash.
It's a shame our kids and grandkids will not know the priviledges we had, all because of a few fools.
