Guys, I greatly appreciate the support. I do not expect it to go anywhere as it seems like others have had similar experiences and Tracker has failed to step up to the plate.
My main goal is to prevent this from happening to anybody else. I am out a lot of money and now have a useless boat in my garage. To say it makes me sick is an understatement.
The sad thing is that the boat fished well, you just might not make it back to the weigh-in. This almost cost me and my co-angler a lot of money at the Ckoke Canyon Everstart tournament.

I think the major blame here lies with Tracker and their customer service. Lets not totally say all Nitros fall apart, because they don't. There are plenty of good ones running around out there. Now you mentioned you went from a Ranger 521 to a Nitro Z9. I'm sure you wouldn't have taken that leap if you hadn't heard alot of good things about Nitro also. So with every bad story and this truly is a horrible story there are plenty of good ones.
Again I hate their customer service at Tracker but I really enjoy our Nitro. BUT because of the Customer service and that alone it may be our last Nitro.

I don't know where you live but call one of the local tv news stations. They eat consumer cases like this up. Maybe you can find one to run a story on it. Negative sells in the news business.

Man that blows. I have never considered buying a Nitro. Always knew they were cheap junk. I was fishing with a buddy one day on Rayburn and his 101 Minn Kota ripped the front of the boat damn near off. At the time it was only six months old. Lucky for him shortly after it was fixed it came off the trailer somehow on I-10 and went to peices. I thought they only made basscats these days cause the other companys gave up.

I was considering getting a Z9 CDC(my wife whom I fish with quite a bit has said if we get a new boat that's the one she wants--we fish the couples tournies and some local stuff together). I like the layout, deck size, and storage; therefore I had it on my top 3 list ------ NOT anymore!!

I have a 929 and love it!
BUT IF THAT HAPPENED TO MY 2005 929. I WOULD JUST HAVE A TRAILER BECAUSE IT WOULD BE SETTING IN THE BASS PRO SHOP PARKING LOT. WITH THE LOCAL TV STATION WATCHING THEM DRAG IT AROUND BACK BEFORE THEY OPENED.
I believe in customer service.
Don't send your letter to Tracker send it to bass pro. They have more pull because bass pro buts Nitro in there parking lot. Not good for Bass Pro @ all.

That sucks. I also previously wouldn't have ruled out a Nitro for my next boat, but you can bet they're off my list now.
I don't care if a boat company builds an occasional boat with issues. They all do that. But these things cost way too much money for them not to stand behind a product that was $35k+ 2 years ago.

Just left the Dallas boat show. I looked at all the brands there including Nitro. Been contemplating over buying a used Z9 as well. Also have had friends try to warn me off of Nitro's and I have read many other negative posts too. This post has come at the right time for me, I will not consider them again. Thanks for your info sir. I'm terribly sorry for your problems and hope it gets resolved very soon.

I don't know about Legend, but that's why I'm a BassCat guy. If there ever was a serious problem Rick Pierce (owner) would be involved quickly if needed. I've seen it several times. No mid level guy giving you the "unfortunatly sir" thing.
Maybe that Bass Pro idea is right. But you need to push it up the bureaucracy and hopefully get to someone with some authority who cares.

I would pull it through the BPS parking lot or park out on the road just outside of BPS with a little sign about their customer service. That might get their attention. Especially, during the big Spring Classic.
What about insurance? Are you sure you didn't hit anything? Exactly what I would do. Display it at the spring classic and show people exactly what you get with a Nitro. A buddy of mine bought a ski boat from Tracker Marine and the hooks on the rear of the boat pulled out the first time he pulled his 12 year old daughter skiing. He went round and round with them about repairing the boat. I have never EVER even considered getting a Nitro. They are junk.
