The last time someone ran over me like that was in a tournie.Funny part is I know the guy. I just sat there speechless with a deer in the headlights look. Or the guy that ran between us fishing the dam with his trolling motor and he was still casting. And we were what, 30 feet from the rocks?? He appeared rather clueless though.. LOL

those 1 pound weights that robbie uses would work very well for this...no hooks, just weight on 65 pound braid.
Of course my Christmas present sitting beside me (p226)....Thank goodness we didnt pick that day to fish together Ken...I dont handle those situations very well....you did awesome brother!!!

Hey Ken, Got a report from Jim's sister in law last night. Glad you got to take Jim and Taylor. Got a picture of the first two fish. Good job and great fish. Sorry you had trouble but you lived to fish another day. Hope to meet you someday.

Especially since we like to tie off and fish the same holes all the time!

Lose two batterys in 4 months , id check your charger or your coils are about burnt up in a troll motor . it was how i lost batterys fast one year ,then one time had a minn kota that had a seal out of it pulling all kind of power that didnt need to be used up and made short battery running time ,

Thats not any fun. usually im pretty quiet even when people do this kinda thing to me, but i have blown and gasket a few times.. usually i try to turn my boat as to say NO!! and shake my head and usually folks get the idea. it ruins my fun if i get irate so i stopped letting it get to me.. but it still does

WOW! I am getting old. Yes it was on Sunday afternoon.  How the mind slips away. Glad to know that you knew what the issue was. By the sound of the motor turning over, I would have thought the battery had plenty of juice. With these new motors if the battery is not strong enough it will not fire. Even though it was turning over well my smartcraft gauge was showing that the voltage was dropping to 8.4 volts.

Good ole Monticello, I had 3 guys pull up in a boat one time and I'll kiss your foot if they didn't wake me out and then start fishing 50 ft in front of a freind and I. My buddy completely lost his cool. I told him to just be quite and watch. I didn't say a word but I kicked the TM on high and went right in front of them about 15-20 ft and stared. The uy in the front of the boat looked at me and then made a cast. I sailed my 3/4 oz jig as hard and as fast as I could to where he casted and made a big splash. He looked at me funny and when he made another cast I did the same thing. He then asked me if I had a problem. I told him that it wasn't too funny when someone pulls up right in front of you and starts screwing up your fishing.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Krawlin - Not sure what good a P226 would do in this situation. You would be the one folks would be writing about if you use that sig (or threaten to use it) and you would be reading about it from your jail cell. I don't think cutting in front of someone while they are fishing is life threatening nor does it fall under the "protecting your property" category.

Some people are just a-holes! We were fishing grass at Caddo one time. We were stationed on the grass line. Grass to one side of the boat and open water on the other. A guy in an I/O recreational boat went through the grass 5 feet in front of us to get around! He could have gone to the other side, in open water, and everything would have been okay but he had to be a jerk. He was so close I felt like jumping in his boat. His young (9,10?) daughter was in the boat, so I didn't make and scene but, man I was steaming!
