So this is my first post even though I've been reading the posts over the past few weeks. I've been fishing Grapevine at Murrell park the past few weeks and only caught one small LGM and a catfish. I fish every weekend for a couple hours and throw everything from t-rigged worms to medium diving crank baits. Anyone got any pointers on areas where I could gain some confidence or is it just that time of year for bank fishing. I live close to Grapevine but I could hit up Lewisville as well just not sure where to go or if i am doing the right things. The forums have helped a bunch, I moved hear from Vegas and bass fishing is totally new to me.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Welcome to the forum. Most on here right now are fishing for crappie in the creeks. You may also want to check in the bass fishing forum as well to find more answers. As far as bass fishing in the winter time like now either hit rocky shorelines with good drops off on sunny days with slow rolling spinnerbaits and crankbaits and jigs. Fish the creek channels and most important find the baitfish. Fishing from bank right now for bass will be tough as a lot of fish will move to deeper water during the colder weather. You may also want to try find a city lake in your area since most are somewhat small and you can cover more water for them. goodluck mark

i know a few guys who target bass up w/r/creek while everyone else is chasing crappie . you might want to hit some of those feeder creeks at grapevine using plastic worms . 3-4 ft of water could get ya some . last year they did well on tiny brush hogs

Thanks. Yesterday got three LGM but got skunked today. I'm thinking I might try hitting some of the creeks I can get to. I'm gonna check out the crappie run post and see if I can get some ideas on where to go.

Grapevine is a great place to catch catfish off the bank. Let me know if you are interested and I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi 2Fish4Everything, What's a good area you could point me to at Lake Grapevine for catfishing from the bank? Any pointers on bait also? I typically use shad, minnows, or cut bait that I get from the lake I'm fishing at.

I have been fishing for bass for the first time in Texas all this winter off the banks. I have had most success off of spinner baits and crank baits (Strike King's Red Eye Shad). Get a few of them and you are bound to have some good success. Also I have found that air pressure has a lot to do with whether or not you are catching fish... check that before you go out!

No matter what you throw, slow your presentation WAY down.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.
