This is great contest!! Please continue with this set-up and next round shoot me a PM I might be able to help with prizes. I don't do fishing supply but do have tools, and every fisherman/woman can use tools.

It would be cool, if the Ceder Creek Crew would do a board also. Then we might would be able to do one Big Board in a Shootout Contest between the two lakes. Maybe even the T-Wok crew might get in on it.

I caught her (Are hybrids like LMB where the males don’t get above 4-5 lbs ?) on 11/11/10 at 11 AM “Strolling & pumping” a white Williamson ½ oz banjo eye bucktail jig north of the Hwy 155 bridge. It was fairly difficult to tell her to keep still, to balance on the gunnel, keep her eyes open, and her mouth shut while I’m taking her picture. Had to use a stringer to tie her to the boat before I was ready to release her. Without the camera in my hand and her mouth shut she measured 26” and weighted 11 lbs – my personal best. The little bottom hook on her tail may add another ¼ in. Can I add another few inches for her girth ? She was one well fed fish. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting fish slime off the “Family’s” digital camera ? I humbly ask to not be in the running for any prizes as this is my only entry for the Fall event. Thanks TPW for stocking Hybrids in L.Palestine !!! The Ledbetter Legend

Thats the best looking Hybrid I've seen this Fall so far. Very fat fish and it's bigger than 26" to me. I'd think close to 27" if you sqeeze the tail tips down. Very nice catch there Legend. You have to put that fish on the board for the BIG fish. Great Fish!!

Just a reminder that the First Segement ends today. I know I haven't up dated to board in awhile but will tomorrow with the final results. The Leadbetter Legend is leading with Big Fish with a 26.25" toad and headsRtails is leading the 3-Fish Total with 73.875" as of this morning. It looks like a good day out there today so if you're catching any get them posted this evening!!!
Also, the second Segment will start tomorrow and run thru Dec 31, look for a new thread for it starting tomorrow!

Well, the first segement is now finished, we didn't get many fish submitted but we figured as much with the early fall bite, hopefully the second segment will have more, and bigger fish submitted. We had a total of 21 fish, and The Leadbetter Legend took the Big Fish honors with a 26.25" fish. There were only two that had a 3 fish total, in which HeadsRtails took top honors with 73.875". I am waiting on a package from one of the tackle vendors, when it arrives I will post up on this thread and be contacting you guys to arrange for getting your prize!

Well I tried to put something on the board. As last seasons defending champion, I could'nt put a fish on the board. I sure hope that TPWD puts a little more focus on the Hybrid stocking program on Palestine(and stripers would be nice too).
Congrats Legend on a nice catch.
Don't count me out on the next segment.

Way to go Legend! Your are the Man. Guys the LL put me on my Personal Best in May that tied me for 1st in the Spring edition. 27 1/4 @ 11 lbs. Glad you had a camera this time. LL is one of the best on Palestine we patterned a LOT of fish on the dead sea in the 20+ years we fished it. Looks like your thoughts about the fish being north paid off. Did you go up as far as the Jesus Tree (you do remember the Jesus Tree?) or us a little north of the Golden Triangle (you do remember the Golden Triangle). Great Fish a real Toad. Let me know when you need a back seater. I'm itching after seening your fish. Way to Go. Almost as exciting as the Indiana/Wisconson FB Score! Good Luck keepem coming I'm Betting on the Leadbetter Legend in round 2

Congratulations Legend! I didn't get to get out on the water as much as I would have liked to (do we ever) for this segment , but I am restringing and tieing on the big baits for the next segment. We will see if I can hang with you guys. Also good job to Mo, Headrtails, MartyK8 and the others, you guys are some awesome fishermen!

Congrats to the Leadbetter Legend on winning the first segment and HrT and Lonestar Proud on the 3 fish total. That was one heck of a fish. Looking forward to the next segment of the contest.
