Well, I knew better.bang I told My uncle Art and cousin Joe I shoulda turned around the minute I heard the forecast. But Joe said we'd stay close to shore and find some sheltered coves not far from our launch site if the wind did as planned.hooked

Yeah.........right! thumb
Around 2:00 pm. After a pretty sound thrashing by the wind already, I noticed we were just about the only people on the lake. Not a good sign, and our fishing had pretty much stunk. So a short while later we headed back from Mill Creek to Walnut Creek. I haven't had an arse whooping like that since.....well....maybe never. Cousin Joe is an airline pilot as well as reserve Air Force. I'm thinking he's apparently not afraid of much.loco Sure seems like the waves beat the snot out of that nitro boat of his though. Now my uncle, who is retired Marine Master Sergeant and myself had to scrape our britches when we got to shore. lizard

never again....never again....never again....

Wise choice JD.
Yeah Holzer, you are soooooo right. There's really no reason to do what we did. We could have just as easily put in at a different, and much closer ramp and gone fishing out of the wind altogether. Or stayed at the farm and caught some of them big ol' hawg bass in the fishing pond. I Just wanted to spend some time with my cousin since he lives way up in St. Louis. We were laughing on the way home asking him how his airline passengers feel after a trip as bumpy as that!
