Well, I knew better. I told My uncle Art and cousin Joe I shoulda turned around the minute I heard the forecast. But Joe said we'd stay close to shore and find some sheltered coves not far from our launch site if the wind did as planned.
Yeah.........right!
Around 2:00 pm. After a pretty sound thrashing by the wind already, I noticed we were just about the only people on the lake. Not a good sign, and our fishing had pretty much stunk. So a short while later we headed back from Mill Creek to Walnut Creek. I haven't had an arse whooping like that since.....well....maybe never. Cousin Joe is an airline pilot as well as reserve Air Force. I'm thinking he's apparently not afraid of much. Sure seems like the waves beat the snot out of that nitro boat of his though. Now my uncle, who is retired Marine Master Sergeant and myself had to scrape our britches when we got to shore.
