I've got two on my boat and can say I have used one EVERYDAY I've been fishing. I use it every time I load and unload my boat has not rocked against a boat dock yet that everyone else has to tie up too. I havn't used a rope yet, no scratches no worries. I use one in the wind all the time, when you see guys fishing a bank most fish into the wind so they can control their speed, I fish with it makes it easier to cast and feel the line, plus if your throwing something that doesn't cast well you don't have to worry. I just drop them down cast then let them back up move 10 yards and start again. Not to mention when your going down a bank throwing a topwater and one hits close to the boat you can put them down without drifting over. I could go on all day you really just have to go with someone that has them and uses them to see how much they help. I 'm not gonna mention sight fishing because everyone thinks thats what their good for and they are but they have much more uses.

They are a very good tool, if you have the money to get one then do it. The folks saying that they are a waste of money and that they just drop an anchor or tie to a tree, well why don't you save some more money and do away with your trolling motor, you could use a boat oar and push poles to get around lol. Seriously they are expensive but worth it if you can afford one.

I fished a season with a partner that had one on his boat, we were able to fish in ways that a boat without one couldnt when the wind was blowing a certain direction. We used it all the time that entire year, not just during the spawn. I hope and pray that I will be able to get one in the near future. I was promised one as a part of a deal I won, but it never happened.

I have had mine for over a year and love it. Wont own a boat with out it. But for each his own. Why buy a boat with a 225 or 250 when a 150hp motor will get you where you want to go. why get a depth finder when a little rope and rock can measure the depth. Why own different rods when one cheap rod can cast a lure. If you fish only deep water or never put on the lake if there is any wind then chances are you wont need one.

I don't have one but would like, could have used this weekend fishing in the wind in the grass. Instead I let the grass kind of hold me in place.

No power pole for me. I can control my boat. Well hell I guess that makes you special. Who knew out of the whole TFF you were the only one that could control a boat?

Since installing mine....a 2 1st's, 3rd, and 5th place finish and all can be attributed to use of the power poles.
Last year at Richland Chambers for the SE Fed region champion ship with a 15-20 mph north wind...I sat on the north side of the big island and locked down and flipped tree after tree with no issues....the key was multiple flips to the same tree to goad them into biting...never would have been able to fish that way staying on the TM for each cast.
