they won't draw it down in November, they usually wait until a freeze or two happens. January is about when they usually draw it down

I did catch a 30 lb common down there within minutes of setting up. I had been down there for a few days, went to a class for a few days, then went back. I spent about 2 weeks down there that Jan. I got really tired of 12 lb commons by the time I was done, so I ended up going to LBL several days. Jason did catch the 70 around then, too.
The snag is a cinder block. I don't know how many times we looked a it and talked about pulling it out, but it was right at the waters edge and we never ended up doing it. Oh that's right! I think we were afraid it might be so stuck in the mud that we'd end up sliding down into the water trying to pull it out, and getting soaked in the freezing water and sub-freezing nighttime temps. Well, that, and there was a lot of alcohol being consumed, which would have made the process a little more difficult.

If I recall correctly....this was the same session I took the graceful faceplant into the mud! At least I was able to land the fish that caused this.

It was born long before that. A hook in a lower lip, devil cot slicing open fingers, etc, happened waaaay before the mud fall. Mike was just adding to our legacy that session.
