I'm sorry guys but I'm a little confused. What exactlly is a draw down? Is that when they lower the lake lvl for dock and peir maintenance?

Yepper. The lake is lowered for weed control and for the reasons you mentioned. Fishing improves due to the fact that you can hit the "sweet spots" in the channel where the big buffs live.

What's the biggest fish caught during a draw down? Was the 70 caught then?

Yup, thats when he had the 70. Plus numerous 50's during that same time frame.

Didn't Krista or someone get a 30+ common there during drawdown one year?

What is the purpose of a drawdown?

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me.
When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

I was thinking the same thing. Whoever does
get that snag out will also be rich with rigs.

Funny- I read this on my phone and saw the post before I saw who wrote it... I knew who it was...lol

I'm with Chris. That snag owes me at least one good fish.

Sounds like it could be a race to Emma when drawdown starts in order to 'salvage' a couple of hundred dollars of terminal tackle! bolt rolfmao

I did catch a 30 lb common down there within minutes of setting up. I had been down there for a few days, went to a class for a few days, then went back. I spent about 2 weeks down there that Jan. I got really tired of 12 lb commons by the time I was done, so I ended up going to LBL several days. Jason did catch the 70 around then, too.

The snag is a cinder block. I don't know how many times we looked a it and talked about pulling it out, but it was right at the waters edge and we never ended up doing it.

Oh that's right! I think we were afraid it might be so stuck in the mud that we'd end up sliding down into the water trying to pull it out, and getting soaked in the freezing water and sub-freezing nighttime temps.
