I don't know about the latest model Dodge, but I own an 07 and I have to wonder if that thing even has shocks. I've checked under there a couple of times and they are there, I just don't know if they are connected to anything. Roughest riding POS truck I have ever owned. Has a Hemi and runs like a scalded ape though, but that is about it. Wife cant stand riding in it. Hell I really cant either. I don't know why I bought it. I test drove a 2008 Dodge 1500 Laramie before I bought my 2009 Dodge and the difference in ride is like night and day. The 2008 was really stiff and felt almost squirrely at times. The new coil suspension in the 2009-2010 models makes a huge difference. It feels solid and smooth at the same time, if that makes sense.

I have a 2007 sierra and it rides very nice, but if you really want a smooth riding tow vehicle, stay way from a pickup and go with a suburban mentioned above. Long wheel base equals smooth ride.

I can tell you I had an 08 tundra and it was quick but was like riding a paint shaker, I finally got toyota to buy it back. I decided to go back with a chevy since my 2000yr model rode so nice,I bought an 09Ltz what a mistake yes it does ride better than a tundra but not by much. And if you really want a 1500 silverado MAKE sure it has a 6 speed trans cause the 4speed is gutless, even with a chip and cold air induction I can not keep up with a camry off the line. First gear is like 1st and a half and second drops off so bad, I have had it checked out and acording to the dealership everything is working as designed and the ride is due to the ''new'' HD suspension. So if you are in the market I suggest renting something and taking a trip in one before you buy-it will save you a lot of back pain. If anyone knows how to soften up this ride I would be gratefull, and yes I did check to make sure is not welded directly to the frame.

I'd probably use a Tahoe or Escalade. The ride on the Escalades are great, and they've got plenty of power. A good used one isn't too expensive either, and they're very similar to a normal Tahoe on maintenance. Finding a used one with about forty to fifty thousand miles for a good price is fairly simple, and they're pretty stout as well.

I will have to find out what rear end it has,I did drive one with a six speed auto trans and there was a huge difference. This was after I purchased mine, and as you know the salesmen don't allow you to fully check out the performance on a test drive. The test drive usually consist of about four right turns and back to the dealership to sign the papers.

Check out the new Dodge 1500 trucks. They have coil springs instead of leaf springs in the rear end and the ride is phenomenal. Tows my 4500 lb. boat like its not even back there. I have one of these too.. and I could not agree more.

Maybe yall chould cange your shocks to some Bilsteins. They make a real good shock , I thinks its the 5100 series for the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks that will really make a difference. My wife has an 08 Suburban and my 07.5 3500 4X4 dually rides just as good as the chevy and thats not just my opinion, my wife thinks so too.

My 07 Chevy 2500 4x4 Duramax is pretty sweet. Pulling the 20' Skeeter at 70 mph I have been averaging 16.8. I do have the Power Chip reprogrammer set to Perf Tow. It now has 65k, kind of just getting broke in. I do need to dual out the exhaust.
