Not the same kind you have in mind, or learned. A lot of younger people don't seem to have any manners or respect for others property any more. I just don't see where anyone gets of knowingly going against posted signs. Not talking about him either, he stated he was wrong and is going through the right channels now. It is not wrong to ask first and maybe get permission

Go door to door in the neighborhood and offer to mow the lawn, rack leaves, whatever for their permission to access the pond. Make sure they have the right to allow somebody to use the pond before you do this tho...

The main reason they dont want people fishing is because the place gets trashed out.

Yea a few people jumped on my case like they've never broken the law before. My buddy keeps begging me to go back but I'm kind of iffy about it since we were already warned. I don't wanna get arrested or something. Night fishing would be a little difficult to fish there without being caught because there's lights around the whole pond.

All I know is, if it were my pond, I'd be very angry and I have a feeling you would too. It does not matter if it's a community pond or not, the point is it's not there for your enjoyment. Talking about theft and speeding cars is like comparing Apples and Golf Balls, it's kinda pointless and stupid. I see ponds all the time that I would love to fish, but I would never knowingly trespass on someones property for a few measly fish that aren't even going to get eaten.

Enough said, with a statement like that you have exposed your true character.

Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Never lived in a community with a pond myself, but a college buddy moved into the third house built in a subdivision in Round Rock with a great stocked pond. Non residents learned of the 3-5 lbers there and started coming. Nobody gave a damn about them for about a year until people started leaving beer cans, hooks, line, rotting chicken livers on the shore. Kids play there. Now there are signs posted and everyone in the whole subdivision will call 5-0 if they even remotely think you're not a resident. Don't blame them myself.

I used to do a lot of sneaking-in back in the 1970's when I was young and fleet of foot. Even though I sometimes caught fish, it seems like I just didn't enjoy it as much as I would have otherwise.
