imho that guy who caught the fish wanted that fish to die, from looking at the video he already weighed it and still had it in his livewell he should of released it asap. The only reason i could possibly think of for him to keep it in the livewell is if the fish had already died.

I do a lot of CPR, but hell, it's legal for the guys to keep it no matter how much others whine about it. I say congrats and if I had the choice, I'd have certified it and hoped it lived.

There's no telling how many catfish bigger than that one have been pulled out of there by overall wearing rednecks for decades. This guy just knew of the record and knew he probably had it. There's money in it now, probably not much back then. Those boys don't go out there for photo ops, with a nice Columbia shirt with their name embroidered on it and a 400.00 pair of Maui Jim sunglasses.

P*I*S*S*Y whiners on this board!
That fish was put in a stock tank live well plenty big on the boat. The angler made every attempt to keep the fish alive obviously. But when it takes that long to get the proper authorities notified etc. it becomes a very difficult task to keep a Big fish alive.
The angler is no newbie to catching big fish and previously held the Illinois State record. I am sure he tried everything in his power to keep that fish alive.
You try finding a certified scales at 3 a.m. in the morning, even on Texoma that can weigh big fish 100+ not 50lb. or less it is tough, have you don it lately !

Good grief, lets not start this as a cpr debate and all that crud. Yes, it sucks such a trophy died but it happens especially with something being no telling how old this fish is. Now for name calling to start up, that's just childish....

no, it ain't funny ... people ain't happy just to congratulate a feller on his catch ... if the fish wasn't taken care of just to their own personal specifications, then there ain't no end to all the pi$$in' & moanin' about it ... the fact that the fish died simply ain't nobodies bidness
it wasn't my fish! ... everybody repeat ... it wasn't my fish!!
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

it wasn't my fish! ... everybody repeat ... it wasn't my fish!! , Well said Albert, and I know you and I don't agree on the CPR thing. CPR guys would be much better off suggesting instead of trying to force their issues, and way happier without the pi$$ing and moaning.
