Oh great now we have to decide between a bunch of products! I had already email the one Darrell posted and got back answers next day. I ask them if it was alright to put their product in even though I already had Sta-Bil in my boat. His answer was yes it would be OK and he also mentioned that if the future I wouldn't need any other product other then theirs. I may do just that when I use all my Marine Sta-Bil.

Sta-Bil and Startron are available at Academy and Wal-Mart. I don't believe you need both, either one will do fine. Wal-Mart has Startron in the marine parts area in sporting goods section not with the automotive stuff where Sta-Bil is located.

I am amazed it only cost $1000 to fix your boat-I just bought a fuel pump so I know what those cost!

That's great info Ken. I'm telling you guys that think you won't be affected....you will, and especially if you don't have a newer engine. All of the products that the various guys have told us about on this post is "very cheap insurance". I'm going tonight to buy six 5 gal red gasoline cans and twice a month I will make a 100 mile round trip for non-ethonal gas for my boat. ETH is bad stuff on a marine engine....I know.

Agree. I supervise a laboratory that does work for the biggest oil companies including ethanol testing on petroleum products and groundwater near fuel station storage tanks. Some gas stations may be advertising ethanol free gas but I don't believe it - and we test hundreds of samples per week.

I'll pick up a sample of "ethanol-free" gas from one of those gas stations and test it. Should have some results to post back here by Tuesday. If anybody knows of a gas station within about 50 miles from Dallas that guarantees their gas is ethanol-free then send me a PM.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. I have looked everywhere the internet will allow me to look and I can't find one...well, one was east of Oklahome City but I think I'll pass on that one. Looks like I'll just have to depend on the additives to save my bacon....and $$$$.

I see that there is a supposed ethanol free gas station in Killeen. I will stop by there in a couple of hours and see if this is true.

I'm pretty sure the list isn't 100%. I still haven't located the station listed in the Tyler area. bang

The problem is..if they ever have accepted a load w/eth then you have eth. in your fuel. I know at Texoma..there are quite a few bait/marina areas that their new owner purchases straight fuel (non-eth) for resale. The cost is significantly higher but..? Most branded fuels, even at marinas, contain eth.
