The original story could be true if the deer got tired of swimming and actually sank to the bottom and started walking. So whats so funny? I caught an armadillo by its tail one time and threw it in our pond at our deer lease.. about 30 minutes later it came walking up the bank, it briefly stopped and looked over to my direction, as if to say.. WTF!! Before running off..

I saw a lot of tracks back in Twin Coves in April of this year.
Wouldn't suprise me to see a deer during a tournament weigh-in - accidentally caught on a buzzbait!

Wow this is truly an epic thread! I do have one true wild n' wacky adventure i should share with you folks. About 10 years ago i was fishing with my old man on Lake Belton. We had soured some maize and dumped it into the shallows after some channels. We had the boat pulled up near the bank. Not too long into the fishing, a turkey came down the hill and stood not 25' from our boat, just lookin right at us like he didnt know wtf we were. So i had an idea....i got the dip net and slowly crept out the boat, then stared that turkey right in the eye.....then BAM! Took off after him and chased him up the hill.....and caught him in the dip net! Fast rascal he was! So then i thought, what to do w/ him? Well, i had my heavy rod rigged and ready, so i took that 9/0 cirlce hook and hooked that turkey right thru the eyes, then gave her a mighty heave as far out as i could. And before i knew it....BAM!! Something hit that turkey and started pullin our boat off the bank and around the lake. After a 4 hr long fight, and getttin completely soaked by all the water thrashing around, we discovered that, by golly, we had us a 15' gator! Knowin not quite sure what to do, i just jumped right in and gave that gator the absolute worst beating of his life. Im talkin like Mike Tyson style. Then we loaded her up...took her home...and had us a gator-fry that weekend! No BS...i really did catch the turkey in the dip net! And let him go right after because he was going NUTS!
