I damn sure wouldnt go back to a ranger. Talking about beating you to death and by the way they run like a crankbait nose down.

First off, two of the complaints can be easily remedied.
#1 Wave over bow of boat Don't dive the nose through a wave, yes it takes seat time and paying attention to drive a boat dry in bad conditions, I have never nailed a wave like that, but I have been flat soaked in draw tourneys riding in someone elses boat....
#2 Hooks stuck in carpet in the nose of the rod box Put the bait hooked to the real if your rod doesn't have the small loop just over the reel and wind the line clockwise around the eyes before shoving it in the rod locker, problem solved
The interior remarks, sometimes stuff just wears out. especially if you don't take care of it..
Flame away, but you know these are all facts.
This is true with all boats not just tritons, you'll see new looking 20yr old boats, and beat to crud looking 1yr old boats.

Well this is a first. Someone coming on here and saying their boat sucks. Usually, no matter what boat someone owns, it is the fastest, dryest, best fishing boat in existence and everyone should go sell theirs and buy one. Nice to see someone be honest. Sounds like you are describing my 14 foot lonestar john boat with a 20hp evinrude!!

I for now own a Triton thats 10 yrs old and have never had a serious mechanical problem.. And the lil boat will take a pound'n..But I to have some of the same issues..If you put anything with trebles on the deck you will be pulling it out with your needles noses. I kinda look at it like Triton was my beginners boat and next year I am thinking of getting into a Legend..

I have a 17.5 ft Tracker Grizzly, customized a bit, but still w/o all the amenities of the other boats mentioned. I'm happy just to have a bass boat. But If I were in the market for a new fiberglass boat, I'd look at the Pro Gator. I hear they are extremely tough boats. I must admit that the Progator is an awesome boat! Best hull warranty around and tough as nails. I've had mine for 11 years and yes it looks old but that is my fault for not keeping it covered for several years. The boat is solid as a rock!!!

Personally, for myself; I would like to have a custom built heavy gage aluminum bass boat with heavy & well constructed textured fiberglass decking, lids etc.. Also I would not want it painted. Leave the aluminum bare, and let it oxidize and get a nice aluminum oxide finish to protect it from corrosion.
I dont care if its pretty. I just want it to be solid, reliable, highly functional and low maintenance.

Love my Ranger boat, most of my problems are with the stuff added to the boat! Depthfinders, trolling motors, chargers? You name it! It has happened- Loose connections from rough water are very common also.

I love my boat. I love all boats that float because any boat is better than no boat.

I've only had my new to me Triton TR-22 since February and I like the 22' of space! I've been in some BIG winds on Falcon and Fork and am dang sure glad I was in that boat!.. plus that 250hpdi sounds purdy on the back not to mention you can park your truck on the front deck, and it will still comfortably fish 2 anglers?

My TR20 is 10 years old.Always garage kept.Everything is good except for the things I have abused. The rod box DOES have drain holes. But the lids have a channel that directs the water around and to the back.I am very satisfied except for the raised letter decals.I have had issues with them.I am thinking about removing them and having NO lettering. Anyone think this is a bad idea??

I just bought a new skeeter. I had a Rnger "492VS", great boat, but too pricy! I looked at every boat on the market, and yes ever triton I looked at the seats were pulling apart after about 2 years. I also saw many tritons with cracks in the console. Rangers are great boats, heavy which hurts the top end speed. The Legend's craftmanship is second to none. Don't get me wrong, I love me Skeeter and would not trade it for the world, only time will tell how it holds up. It is fast and takes rough water better than my old ranger. The only thing right now is the latches on the boxes, the have to be adjusted about once a month. But other than that I have not had it long enough to tell. Good luck with your Triton, at least you are fishing!
