Sorry to hear about the 'glass damage. My recommendation is to bring it over to Tyler and let Charlie at Charlie's Fiberglass and Boat Repair do his magic.

You smash 'em, he'll glass 'em!

sorry jbassman. I fell victim to the dreaded rebar at Fork two weeks ago.

With normal wave action it is hard to see.

Is that the one they call the widow maker?

If you cannot find anyone to fix it over your way try Mikes Fiberglass (Lake Fork Fiberglass ) he can fix you up.

I am in the process of buying a boat and was looking at the Parks and Wildlife site at some of the requirements the other day. There is actually a requirement that you have to report a situation such as this or injury beyond the need of simple first aid on an accident report. This is something similar to traffic law governing the reporting of auto accidents if injury or $1000 or more in damage is sustained. The damage requirement for a boat, however, is $500 which I'd suspect is minimal fiberglass damage. I would be willing to bet that if TPWD gets an accident report everytime this happens, it may not go as un-noticed.

The big stump is still out there, it's out in the middle. If you make a run from Ray Branch to Little Caney you will pass near it. I do have it marked on my GPS and it to has a very large piece of REBAR (not mine) with PVC and reflectict tape. The REBAR is a new addition, someone pulled my broken PVC with a little red reflective tape and put it on the rebar. I had a new PVC maker with me for just for that stump. I added the new PVC with three rings of white reflective tape. We just have to see how long it last.

Next spring when the rains come and the water gets up some poor fool will most likely find it the had way.

I'm surprised this lake isn't marked better. AS much traffic as it produces you would think they would make more of an effort.

We lived on CC for 12 years and we used Jerry's Fiberglass in GBC on 2 different occasions and he did excellent work. At least that would be close to you.

Jerry's Fiberglass in Gun Barrel City. He might be a little higher than some, but his work is excellent.
