I ran up on a stump idling and I guess when I came over the stump the rebar pulled a big spot out of my fiberglass where the transom and hull meet.

I will be calling state farm, where should I take the boat for repairs, I live in the Cedar creek area.

This is something the TP&W should address. There is several thousands of $$$$ damage done on east tx lakes by this every year. T-post and rebar put into stumps are just stupid. There are lots of other safer way to mark a stump if you need to but I wished they would not mark them at all. If you cannot find anyone to fix it over your way try Mikes Fiberglass (Lake Fork Fiberglass ) he can fix you up.

I fish Fork all the time. If I see rebar sticking up out of the water I stop and pull it out. I hope everyone else will do the same. If I mark a stump I use 3/4" PVC cut to point and hammer it into the stump with a 4 pound hammer. Put reflective tape on the top of the pipe. If the water gets to high to see the marker, it will breaker off when ran over. Has anyone seen the giant stump in 50' deep open water near Ray Branch? I have marked it several times. When the lake gets up high you can't see the marker. That stump is 3' across and will ruin your day if you hit it at any speed. Right now it is not marked; it sticks up about a foot above the water when the lake is at normal level. With normal wave action it is hard to see.

Could not agree more Evan...Browns is a great place to get most anything done to your boat.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I mark stumps with 2in pvc. If you cut it in 1ft length and cap both ends. tie a rope to it and to the stump. put reflective tape on end away from rope. it floats, cheap and is easy to do.

I looked for the big stump in 50'in Ray Branch last month & couldn't find it - even though it's marked on my gps.
Maybe it fell - as many are doing this year.
