To me mounting a fish you didn't "catch", is like mounting a big buck that was struck by a car. Just My opinion. If he was going to tell a story about how he reeled in the bass and the crappie was dangling out of it's mouth I'd agree with you, but he obviously just wants to memorialize a once in a lifetime freak occurance he found on the water. If someone found a two-headed buck killed on the side of the road it might wind up at the taxidery shop too. They are both very interesting, curiosity pieces so lighten up Francis.

That's awesome. Not for the fish but it tells you what the big fish are wanting to eat! Looks like she was hungry.

Big ol bass fer sure!
I totally agree with getting it mounted ... this is probably a once in a lifetime experience.
Seems that the MOUNTED famous Hole in the Horn non typical buck was found beside a train track the victim of a train. That mount is worth a bunch of cash too!
Be proud of your mount. Your son will have this memory etched into his memory!

I haven't been out to Lake Athens since last year. It is definetly a great little bass lake. If you haven't tried this spot, try Peninsula point. Most people drive right over it with their boats and don't realize what they're passing up. Peninsula point is one big flat thats full of hydrilla in about 6 feet of water. When you leave the lauch. Go left and follow the shoreline around towards the main lake. The shoreline will wrap around to the leftand you'll run into cove. The mouth of that cove has alot of submerged grass is excellent bass fishing. If you go straight accross to the other side of the mouth of the cove on the left is where Penninsula point begins. Good luck and THATS A HUGE BASS and a pretty nice crappie too!
