I was out fishing with my son today and came across this once in a lifetime find. I had read about this phenomenon but never thought I would see it. She must have been feeding during last nights full moon and could not have been dead more than a few hours. Her body had not decomposed yet. Kinda sad to see. She weighed 9.62. We are taking her to the taxidermist in the morning to mount her with the crappie in her mouth.

Sweet! Crappie tastes soooo good! That's too bad. That'll make a sweet mount!

The first thing you think when you are approaching a toad floating is that either someone mishandled the fish or the stress of the spawn but, then you see this crappies tail hanging out its mouth and it shocks you!

I passed you guys up today going under the bridge. Other than that floater did you have any luck? I caught ten small ones, one on a red trap and the rest on white spinners. I couldn't get a worm bite for anything today. Probably had about 30 bass follow my spinner all the way to the boat but never woud hit it, just follow it around and look at it.

I have seen numerous bass in Mexico floating with big tilapia, but this is the first I have seen with a crappie. We had the opportunity to save many we found and several times, both the tilapia and the bass swam off. You found this one a little late, unfortunate.
