I have the gorilla hull on my 92 champion, its been on the boat since it was new. I dont have any issues with it. Be sure to sand the hull with about 800 from back to about the seats, straight. This smooths out the pad.

So what kind of hulls are y'all running that you worry about knocking a hole in it at fast idle? I run an old 19.5' Nitro that's hit stumps, rebar, rocks and fence posts all over Texas and Mexico. Never poked a hole in it and wouldn't own a boat that I thought stuff like that would damage. Sure I got some scratches and a small gouge or two, but nothing structural. Not really sure I understand the physics of this Gator/Gorilla hull stuff. Seems hard for an applied coating to add rigidity to a hull??

Billy really has the best prospective about the reasoning + my hull is getting weak from the repairs to date and I want to keep the boat...It's paid for and I intend to fish Lake Fork until the day I die then spread my ashes there. I'll just have to start fishing with a 1/2 tank and lighten my load elsewhere to make up for the excess weight. Should be doing that anyways per some good advice. It always seems to happen right under my BOB which is the gas take area (more than one version) as well.

Really appreciate everyone's advice and have an appointment wtih LF Fibergalss to get done.

Yes it slowed my boat slightly. But it made it ride rough water better, there is no more hollow sound when you hit a wave. Everything feels more solid now. Putting the boat on the bank no damage, rolling over stumps and logs on trolliing motor and at idle no worries.

Best $$$ I ever spent.

It would be the first improvement I put on a new boat.

My fishing buddy has a 1989 Bass Cat Pantera with a 200 Mariner
and I believe Mike at Lake Fork Fiberglass put a Gator hull on it. So far we never had any problems and can take the stumps at Fork prety well.

I ran a Gorilla Hull for 15 years on my old '91 Nitro. The boat finally fell apart around the hull. Had it put on at Toledo Fiberglass. There was no where on the north end of Toledo I would not go. I recommend the Gorilla Hull as soon as you put the first hole in the bottom of your boat.
