I know this may not be the correct topic for this forum.. I'll move it quickly, if I can gather enough info..
The Gator hull repair for a tired running surface.
Pros****Cons, is it worth the money ?
No Weekender, it's not for my boat.. LOL...

This must be for RMAX. I told him all I know about it. I think it only adds like 300 pounds and guaranteed for life. I Know Steve at Steves Custome Props knows a good bit about this product.

The original "Gorilla Hull" done by Toledo Fiberglass adds less than 50# to an average 20' hull. If the Gator Hull is adding 300#, they need to forget it. 300# on a 20' boat will change everything as far as ride, handling, and speed.

What I'm being told is that it will only add 45# so that shouldn't be a HUGE factor. I'm takling pity donations to help pay. Either that, I need everyone to help us win Media this weekend. All big fish locations accepted...
Thanks to all for the advice. Anyone have Steve's # so I can call him to discuss?

Added to a 21' Triton 2 years ago at Toledo Fiberglass (the originator of the Gorilla Hull) they told me it added 35#'s. Absolutely no change in performance.
The big plus, I don't worry a minute about rolling over big stumps here on Toledo Bend because the hull is guaranteed for the life of the boat irregardless of who ownes it. Great for re-sale value and it's true, we have millions of stumps.

What's the price difference between the two? Gorilla vs Gator?

Just checking.. LOL
I would like to get one on mine for sure. I talked to a couple guys the other morning waiting on tourney to start and they said they only lost a couple MPH and have a ton more confidence when bumping stumps. I still wouldn't run on pad in a stump field but will make ya feel better about the bumps that happen from time to time. Especially on Fork.

So what's really the point? Sure it protects your hull, but you still have an engine on the back of your boat that will get killed when you start being more adventurous with the new hull.

It will help for those little bumps that don't hit the motor but can take a chunk of fiberglass or gel coat out of the boat and eventually cause a leak.
Lots of times if there is a hole in the boat that needs repairing a shop can go ahead and do the whole bottom with Gator / Gorilla hull for the same cost of the repair. Or so I've heard.

Dan,
Lets put it this way, Randy isn't the fastest boat to the backs of creeks at this point in time... LOL...
He's been babying it to the backs, it takes a lot longer when you have to worry about knocking a hole in your boat at a fast idle or a hair more.. Not to mention someone passes you up and is sitting right where your starting spot is/was for the morning.
You know how it is out there..
