I perfectly understand how you feel Jerry.... I've done the very same thing a few days ago.... There is nothing worst than having a feeling of making the wrong call to fish an area with little result, especially when the call you make envolves others. You have had many great days in an area which produced good numbers so you stuck with what worked...and the element changed on you. I, on the other hand, had found some great number of fish in an area, and decided to go to a different lake thinking that I will even find better fish in quality and quantity. Sadly, they were no where to be found. I made the wrong call, and I felt really bad knowing the person I supposed to put on fish had to put up with me and my wrong decision.... And yet, I don't even guide, and I already feel rotten!! As I've always said (jokingly, but true): "I'm good, but I'm NOT God!!!"....hahahaha I know Jerry and I don't always agree with every details in crappie fishing, but I must admit that by offering clients a return trip deserves lot of KUDOS... They caught fish even though it wasn't a limit, but Jerry didn't have to do that knowing if his clients observed how hard he tried to put them on fish...Thumb Up to Jerry!!!!

Uh, Bama, what you really meant was when I fish with you in your boat, we catch lots of fish. When you fish alone, not so much. Jerry, thanks for being a stand up guy and telling the truth even when it hurts.

Time to switch to that long anticipated singing and guitar playing career.
You already have the makins' of a good C&W blues song.
"Thought I wuz the crappie king thought I knew 'bout everything. Then one day I got skunked bad... Not the best day I ever had.
So I switched to singin' for my livin' and I'm on stage to the audience givin' my sad song. Now I know I don't sound all that great... At least until you drank about half a case!!
Good times.

Jerry - We a great time fishing with you yesterday! It was tough but we learned alot more about springtime fishing - especially on the hard days! And ya'll are right - this was hand to hand combat fishing for the 16 we boxed. I don't think I pulled a fish that didn't come through 3 feet of branches and sticks. I had one that got so tangled it dangled in a tree for 5 minutes while we got the boat up to it to grab it.
Anyway -if you are thinking about a guide trip and don't call Jerry that'd be a mistake. He is a great guy to fish with and sure knows his stuff.
We will be back and soon!
P.S. It was a spectacular afternoon to be on the water!

Hell Jerry - was hardly a 'bombed' effort. Sometimes it's not about the catching .... it's all about the fishing. Hand to hand combat is an understatement. Unfortunately, nobody can kill a guide's mojo like Mike and I can.
But ...... any day dunking jigs is better than a day NOT dunking jigs! Period. I learned a lot about Lavon this week and look forward to a repeat trip at least once a month in May, June and July. Besides, it's was a pleasure to see someone outfish Mike 175F/S - which rarely happens.
And the story you shared about about the beer bottle was definitely worth twice the guide fee!! Next time ...... DUCK!!
I look forward to chasing some more sac-a-lait with you and Mike soon!

I know "bombing". I had a little time yesterday afternoon so decided to go to Lewisville and walk a bank with a jig n' bobber that I'd been watching. First cast the bobber went under...and I missed him. For the next hour and a half the same thing happened six more times...and I missed 'em. Did not stick one fish. I can make a bunch of excuses, but I'll stop here with saying that yesterday, I sucked Thank goodness no one was with me........
