 When guides bomb!

I've been doing lots of bragging but today I sucked  My little honey hole on the north end of Lavon has played out. Water really cleared up over night and the fish are gone for the most part. Only small fish and a few stragglers left. I won't go back that far north this year. Had 30-40 keepers yesterday and we only managed 16 this afternoon and had to get serious to catch them. I apologized to my clients and offered them another trip free of charge in the next few weeks. I want to put them on some fish. They said they were gonna rag on me  I told them to hurry up cause I wasn't to proud to say I guessed wrong today. It's amazing how fast things change this time of year and that is why I HATE spring time fishing

This time of year is tough...feast or famine. I love it when it's on, but you feel the pressure when it's not one of those good days.

It's amazing how fast things change this time of year and that is why I HATE spring time fishing +1 I'm with you Jerry. Come on June and beyond with its "pods" of nice fish bunched up around bridge pilings and under docks.

One good thing Jerry. If fishing was that hard your customers learned how to catch them even when they are not jumping all over the hook. The average fisherman may have only caught 2 that day. I know waht you mean by wanting your customers to catch lots of fish. But as you know we are only human.

Dang it sux when I bomb.. I just always promise myself that I will go next time. And the next, and the next and ... I'm not always looking for a limit, but 2-3 hours with 6-8 fish is a beatin. But, it's the THUMPLOVE that keeps me goin

no matter how good You are or how well You know Your water Mother nature will sooner or later pull the rug out from under Ya ta humble ya a bit It hurts happened to Me more times than I can count! thats why its fishing and not catching!

As long as I can tell that a guide is working hard to put me on fish, I understand they can't always be right. Sounds like you did the right thing by the client's and I am sure they appreciate it.

I'm havin a hard time feeling sorry for ya....I havnt seen a good mess of fish in the past 5 months!!! But I'm goin this weekend....I eventually will prevail.

We've been having quite some good luck out at Conroe... Gotta admit, haven't limited out, but I've also been sticking mainly to the docks... Just don't feel like taking the boat out at night....
