Another evolution of those lakes is the lack of trophy blues at Calaveras.

Used to be you could target blues from 15 to 25# and do pretty well, by that meaning you would have four or five in that weight range fishing one spot.

Now it seems that is a rare accurance.

Don't know if it's the pressure, but those big blues take a good while to get to that size, so there is something to that!

It's my fault. Many trips to Choke bringing back a full fish tank of live blues, stopping at Cally, and dumping them in has paid off. You're welcome.

Those downrigger trollers catch a lot of Blues at certain timesof the year. There are more of them relative to the size of the lake at braunig then Calaveras then Choke, maybe this is the reason?
