just got back from Fork and spent a week and a half there. It was a bad week and the worst trip we have had in 10 years of going. One day the wind was out of the North and the next out of the South. I blanked on three days. I blame it on the weather and I will more than likely go back next year but right now I hate that lake!

Took my brother out Sunday and after searching for and finding a wind block , he picked up a white chatterbait and began haulin in the fish. The only thing that kept him from catching more fish was a couple out of state boats wanted to jump on his area. That was fine by us though. We live just a couple miles from the lake and can go anytime we feel like it. Was glad to see one of the Tusla boys pull a 5.5 lb-er out of that spot before they had to head back north

Man I have a whole list of lakes that I hate. Of course that list changes occasionally, but I have a few that I just cant seem to get off that list and Fork happens to be one of them.

I agree Fork does suck...just a bunch a little dinks in that lake...What the heck am I doing out there anyway I might as well fish with Sinkey. The only thing that makes me feel better is that Billy will have those new blinds up at the lake house soon if I keep donating like this

I always use live bait in the spring out there and do fine.

I fished Ray Roberts on sunday and it was tough fishing there as well.It was for us anyway, almost 23 lbs won the tourney

There's no fish in that lake anyway

You just had to find them. We did not pull any off of any beds on Saturday, but my husband and I had one of the best bass fishing days ever on Fork. We caught a lot of nice fish anywhere from 3.5 lb - 8.5 lbs, they were like sand bass schooling. The wind was tough but it was well worth it. We even caught a double one was 8.5 the other was 6.5, WOW it was awesome. Sunday we did not even get a bite.

Well for what it's worth category, I've lived on LF for the past 5 1/2 years but I'm certainly no expert. However I agree with the guy that said most people fish too fast - slow down is the key I have found. I often find myself excited and fishing too fast. Once I catch myself and slow down, wham - I'll catch one. But I have gone days w/o a bite and I can tell you that you have a different attitude when you live on the lake. If I get skunked, it doesn't bother me as much as it use to when I would drive 2 or 3 hours to get to a lake and get skunked because now, I know I always have tomorrow.

And we all know that a bad day of fishing is better than a heck of a lot of things out there. Just be thankful that you are blessed to have a boat and truck to go fishing. That is much better off than a lot of folks these days. OK, I'll get off my soap box.

O.K.,I do prefer fewer boats on my favorite lake.
