Might take a look at Temple Fork Outfitters, Gary Loomis designed their new line on baitcasters, about $99

I've been shopping hard for value bass rods and it looks like Berkely is a great price. Their top of the line rods are around $70. I visited their factory a while back and they really seem to know what their doing.
Anybody fish Berkeley rods?

+1 for Lightning Rod Shock's, been watching them for about 4 month's now. The 7 ft. MH is 49.99 right now in BPS San Antonio. Split grip handle and for that price you could get 2 of them.
I will be matching mine with a couple of Citca's.

Been using H&H rods starting in January, had a whole bunch of miss matched rods and wanted to get some that all had the same feel. They have been good thus far. Had been looking at the Mojo and Falcon Low Riders, H&H seem to fall in between the two. I felt the Falcon's were a little to lite in the action, while the Mojo's were to heavy and stiff. The H&H are available at Gander and on-line, another Houston based rod company. I have called up several times and talked with the Owner about the rods, actions, etc. Seem to be on the up and up. Just my thoughts....

If I was looking in that range, I would look at Acadia. Not the cheaper F series but the M series. They are excellent rods. I have used their P Series rods a lot. The M series replaced the P Series....I have Falcons, All Star, BPS, Daiwa, and a custom rod made for Peacock Bass by Kel's. The Acadia folks stand behind their product too........
I think they still have a deal that if you don't like the rod, you can send it back. I broke the tip on one of my Acadia P series rods...It was my fault. I called them and told them it was my fault...They sent me a new rod anyway.
Their rods are not expensive as compared to some other brands, but unless you are into bragging about what your rod costs, they might be a good fit. They make a good rod and back it up and they are good people to deal with.

Texguy02, Another rod you might consider is Cabela's completely redesigned Tourney Trail rods. They have a great sale right now on both casting and spinning rods,it's a 'buy one, get one free' sale for $59.99. A buddy and I picked up a couple of them and have yet to fish them but they look great and appear to be pretty well made. The Cabela's fishing dept. manager said the warranty was 2 years but if there are any problems even after the warranty period expires just bring it back and he'd replace it. Here's a link with more info: Cabela's Tourney Trail Rods Also, as someone else said Academy has Falcon Original Series rods on sale for $69.99, the sale ends today. Ronnie

I have 4 of the BPS Cranking Sticks in 71/2' MH and love 'em. I use them for everything. $69.00 regular price.
