Went to BPS and looked at several different rods. Was wanting some opinions on the price range listed. And maybe thoughts on the Abu Garcia Vendetta, Falcon Bucco and the Allstars.

Open ears so lets hear some feedback

Thanks

Out of those three I would go with the bucco.I would also look at the Shimano Compre. Its the best lower priced rod I think.

BuCoo among those you listed. I just checked Falcon's website, and they have a new line of rods called HD priced at $70-may be worth a look at.

http://falconrods.com/index.php/rods-reels/rods/hd.html

I have owned several Falcons and all have done me well.

Out of the three rods you mentioned, I would go with the Falcon. If your hearts not set on one of those three you should check out the MOJO bass rods by Fenwick. I bought a couple of them last year and love them. A buddy of mine has bee buying those Skeet Reese rods and loves them, but personally, I cant stand the color.

OK, I have bought three different rods in this price range in the last year and here is what I think:

Abu Garcia Vendetta 7'6" MH Casting: Awesome rod, not the lightest ever, but great sensitivity. THe eva grips are comfortable and its got pac bay guides that are pretty tough. Wife got it for me for CHristmas and I have used it about 15 times. Definitely happy with it. $89.99

Berkely Lightning Shock ROd: for 54.99 this is an awesome rod, light, sensitive, and the special graphite/glass bend at the tip is forgiving. Also of note, this rod is designed for braid, so the guides will hold up, and the split cork grips are comfortable. Been using this rod for about a year now and cant say enough about it for the price.

American Rodsmiths Apex Titanium 7'MH from Academy $49.00..is on sale for 39 right now. I have beat the [censored] out of this thing and it is still holding up. It is a little lighter than the Vendetta. I hooked a 40lb turtle with this thing and pulled it off the bottom no problem. Very sensitive and strong and feels like a 150 dollar rod for 1/3 the price.

Hope this helps..lol

MOJO Bass rods are St. Croix, not fenwick

well i went back to BPS today and handled every rod they had on their shelf.

besides the $250-$350 ranges, i felt that Carrot Stix felt the best. In my opinion the Compre and Bucco felt the same and that is prob what i will end up with. Unless i can change my mind about holding an Orange pole. I did like the feel of the Vendettas, the BPS Carbolite

Be careful with the Carrot Stix. Many issues reported here on breakage with those sticks....still, I'd like to try one for myself one day.

I would go with a falcon Bucco they are lite and usa made.

I have 2 skeets they are good rods they are heavier in weight,

and stiffer than the falcon. My son bought a bucco and a shock rod

and I liked them so well I bought one of each. My 7 foot MH shock rod has a soft tip,

I am using for crank bait since it has a fiberglas tip.

The shock rod is a great value for the money!

I went over to basspro to see Gary Kline, and they have shock rod there ther under $60.
I compared the bucco vrs carbon extreme again, the bucco is lighter weight!
