The only 12 step program for the baitmonkey is those that you take with entering the tackle shop, while shopping for what you think you may, could, should, possibly need at some distant unknown point of the year, on some lake you may or may not fish.

My wife had a cow when she saw the Visa bill this month! I'm grounded from any major purchases for awhile??
You guys need to know the 48 hour rule Now this is not a rule I came up with so I can not take credit. This is from a radio talk show in Minneapolis/St Paul by the name of Garage Logic and the guy that invented it is named Joe Schouray. I did change two words for the purpose of bass fishing. This rule was established on March 5, 2002 and is as follows: As a reward for a fellow sneaking new and inexpensive lures into the garage and also escaping any female wrath that might accrue from said purchase, the fellow may make up any story he wishes after 48 hours regarding the acquisition. In other words, she gets 48 hours to notice the purchase and complain. If she misses her window, you are home free. "This old thing," you might say, when, after a week, she finally does notice, "that thing has been here since July."

I'm going to buy a shock collar that goes off every time I get within 25 feet of the front door of Academy or BPS. Cleaned out my tackle bag Sunday and I'm working on all the carp I have in the garage tomorrow. I was shocked at what I had "extras" of and was still buying them.
