Hard to keep the Bait Monkey fed this time of year. Got away from BPS only spending $31 today. Here's what I bought-

KVD Line and Lure
Yum Buzz Frogs in Black/Chart and Green Pumpkin (Darn those $1.99 discount tables!)
Berkeley Swimmin Shad
Spike It Garlic in Fire Red
Gulp! Crappie nibbles in Chart.

Had to stay away from the rod/reel combos. I've gotten a lot better at not buying everything I want! I can honestly say-"I have one of those" to just about everything in the store to some degree. May not have every color, but I do have almost every type of lure in some form or fashion. I frequently carry things around for 10 minutes only to think better of it. Take that Bait Monkey!

I'm not a chick.

Did the same thing a Wal Mart last week. BIG section of clearance stuff. Still came out with a arm load of carp but I got it cheap.

tip for those of you who like the KVD spray.... go to your local hardware store, but a can of silicone spray. write that down!

(same ingredients as KVD spray and alot cheaper)

Just got done at Academy walked out with 12 lipless cranks for .99 each, then decided to look at the Normans dd22 and dd 14's at $2.01 each. I finally got the monkey fed and now the pegs are full. I will have to make up some type of story for the other half about why I need that much stuff. If asked I plan on the "but it was on sale" tactic.

It seems that this cold weather just....BRINGS IT OUT in a guy about buying fishing gear!!

I went to Academy today and bought a dozen spinners and two dozen unpainted 3/8 oz jig heads!

I don't really NEED them...but it just FELT GOOD doing it!!

I fed him $60 today at Academy. $25 of it was on the H20 hard body swim baits. They looked too good for half price not to buy. Damn you Bait Monkey!

I bought the same pack, and also the lipless pack for $9.99. I already had all the lipless cranks in that pack, but at 50% off I just couldnt help myself. grin

Learned a secret....Just walk away!! If I don't need "anything" I will not go in the store. There has been numerous times that I have walked into BPS and Academy and not bought a thing. It is possible!!!
