I have 13 of these and use them for clients as well as for tourny's. I have all matched with abu's 6000's or 6500's or Okuma's. They preform great for all fish. My recent 70 lber came off an ugly stik cat rod. If I were fishiing for 50+ lbers all the time like the guys at Trophy Catfish Adventures I would go with a little more backbone of a rod like proangler or Team Catfish rods, but the lakes I fish with clients the normal is 8 lbers with the largest going 30-40lbs. Great soft tip for throwing punch bait in summer and can handle a 3-4 ounce weight also with ease. Great all around rod. I buy all of mine at Academy and their regular price is $29.99.
