ugly stik catfish rod

I have been thinking about buying this rod for while and was wondering if it is a good rod? I am getting the 1 piece rod.

Also what reel would you recomend for it?

Good rod.. Match it up with an Abu Garcia 6000 or 6500 and you're set..

I've got 3 in 8ftMH two piece matched with 6600c4's. So far I've got a 37.5, 35, and a 27 on them. They did very well. thumb

I have an 8'0 rod like that, last year I hung up and was pulling on my line, I guess I was using my rod some too, cause where the splice is on the rod the bottom end, where you would think it would never break, shattered, I took it back to BPS planning on getting my money back and buying another 1 piece Proangler, I showed it to the lady up front and told her I didn't have a recipt, she called the guy in the fishing dept and told him what I had and what kind it was, he said ugly stick has a 7 year warranty, give him what he wants, so I got another one, no problems with it so far. I like the Proangler better, but I was standing there and Lucas is quiet a ways from there!!!

That is hands down my favorite Rod, very sturdy and it is very affordable.

NOTE: These suckers can be purchased at Wal Mart and are the same price and sometimes cheaper than Bass Pro.

They are good rods. I am not an ugly stick fan but these are pretty good.
Spud uses them and when we fished off of his boat they performed flawlessly. They seem to like 2 to 3oz of lead which is just right for lake and small river fishing IMO.
