Ya'll keep doing the rain dance. We need the water bad.

Buchanan doesn't have to top the shoals at Tow for the Whites to make a run, but we do need higher sustained flows. Every little bit helps.

I was told by the guy that owns the bend store that in 3-4 weeks if the rain doesn't wash the sand bar our tp&w will dig a hole in it. So give them 3-4 weeks smile

I don't think anyone will believe that unless you show some proof.

That brings up a question I have and I don't mean to hijack the tread but has LCRA are anyone else ever dredged the river at Tow?

Was on Buchanan in November for Thanksgiving. 2 boat launch locations open at the time...1 quite "unimproved". Now, the lake is projected to 1002+ by next week and based on inflows, I think might hit 1003.

FYI...last year I was there in late March, level 1004 and I slaughtered the whites with a few 4-8 lb stripers mixed in. Might shape up that way again for my upcoming trip this March as well!!

Paradise Point had the ramp open and with water rise, many boat ramps will be open for access now.

It's currently raining right where we needed it right now. The forecast calls for the rain to continue thru Thurs. This is going to be huge, since the ground is so saturated right now.
Watch for the river to come up fast, & continue to raise the lake level...

Dang nasty and wet here. Started sometime during the night and at 3:30pm we've only had 8/10ths of rain. The Colorado was still at 2 feet above normal about 9am this morning but even this slow rain has to go somewhere cause everything is full here. Thought you might enjoy this site. Check it out. http://www.lcra.org/water/conditions/rainfall.html

This is a great website that gives real time streamflows. If you zoom in on the map you'll be able to see guages on creeks that feed the rivers as well. The map also shows the basin info for the highland lakes. The current flows aren't anywhere near what they were last week, but there is still more rain coming.

Looks like we are getting good rain up stream right now. The river is rising again. The rain is going to end this evening, but the forecast call for more rain on Monday. Everyone keep doing the rain dance...

Looks like the river peaked out at 6.28 ft. with the lake up over 1002.65 ft. and rising as of this morning. Forecasts calls for more rain Sun. & Mon. Hopefully this pattern will continue.
