Hey Chris.
Wish I knew ol JMT, sounds like a righteously fast dude, lol.
Wonder what the fastest rigs in Texas really run? Think there are really 20 boats that can fish a tourney and run over 90?? I think there may be more than 20, it's just not the ones you hear the most about. Most people that can run over 80 or 90 for that matter don't let you know until it is too late.

Ken_A here on the forum had a 20XD bullet, comp hull and a 300xs...we did 99.1mph with both of us in the boat and it was a 100 degree Texas day.
Bullets, Allisons and Strokers are boats you expect to be that fast but I think Dave was referring to the other stock brands.

Well it is always fun to talk about!
I know of ONE guy that I can trust that had a Bass Cat with a 250 and everything out of it, light fuel and good water he said that twice he got the GPS to hit 80 and he actually said that the real speed was 79.5. That was the fastest big boat I have ever seen.
So for now KO you win the fastest "Non-Go Fast" award
Chris wins the fastest fishing boat award.
and I wear the fastest troller toter award.
We will keep the rules simple!!

I have run my blazer up to 91.8 this past winter. Have not spent much time this summer running top speeds as I have been fishing tournaments. Did run 85 and some change with 2 in the boat and the livewells full though this past month.

I know of 2 cougar FTD that run 82. I've been in one of them. My cougar has a 225 and I have seen 77.1 many a times. loaded down shes a legit 75mph boat.

I have to agree with the above statement and is probably more true than I think! Let's face it Texas is a big arse state. I also think that there is a lot of wishful thinking out there, just cruise the boards and look at the claims. Catsalesman you have that Blazer running very well!!! Is the Yamaha bone stock or are there a few mods done? Either way it is impressive congrats! I have a couple of props that should run real well on your rig and Dave has one also that should run well. If you want to get together sometime you are more than welcome to run my props and see how it goes. Dave I can not wait for the cooler air to come back around again so we can get together and try to make some more improvements. Maybe by then we will have dad's boat sorted out by then so he can come play as well.

I've seen Ken's old 2002 Allison with a Mercury drag motor that would cruise at 99. My little boat is fortunate to go 70 on a good day. Tourney load in the summer its around 67. I'm an embarrassed Allison owner.

Maybe there are some guys that run good. Sure ain't hard to find the ones that say they do though.
But sure is fun for thought.
And PS does everyone elses F350 hit the limiter at 97ish? Does a chip change it?

I figured. A couple of my buddies have gotten a little carried away with the whole 6liter Ford and a cummins hop-up Bully Dawg [censored]. One actually runs a N2O set-up with a propane/ alcohol/ methanol or some combo injection. Everything always has to get outta hand, Don't it!?
