Ok I love the sammy but I heard about a bait when I was at amistad fishing the flw college tourney, I think it was called a Vixen? idk for sure it was kinda like a spook I think, but it had a big rattle chamber or somthing and made a LOUD LOUD knocking noise you could hear it easy at the boat on a realy long cast

I really like the weightless fluke. It can be worked like a spook, or allowed to sink as the school goes down. I've had some very good luck using a tandem rig with two flukes--looks like several fish in a single school when you work it back in jerk-pause-jerk-pause-jerk fashion. When schooling, I often catch a small one, and then get a second much larger fish while bringing in the first fish. I like watermelon pepper with a spike-dipped tail. Works in the shallow weeds and in deep open water.

When fishing deep do you let is sink to the bottom or just feel out the dept where the bass are at?

You guys have some suggestions or maybe what you will use this weekend with this chance of rain for early morning topwater bite?
Sunday morning I will be chunkin one of these for the first time ever! Just bought them yesterday! Hand made, hand painted, all wood! Probably start off with the Redear colored one since there is a lot of Sunfish where I will be throwing it!

The Sammy is more of a 'clunker' type bait. I interchange between the different types of rattles to see which the fish want, the bb type or the knocker type. The Rapala skitterwalk is another Sammy/spook type bait with a knocker.
