thanks Wylie, the late risers will never know unless they think through my post. And it was duck not dove! OK.

I'm headed to the coffee pot my own self.

Nope, I fish only,
I am too hyper to sit still and guns shots are too loud, and then they dont last but, what, a spilt second. ....

I like more seat time.

Once, with Scott, I turned the drag down to stop up above ZERO and fought a huge striper for a long long long time.

That's funner.

Plus fish don't scream or squeal, or tongue hang, or cough blood or breathe short raspy breaths

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

Ha Ha - in my younger days me and a gorgeous young college girl named Heather Finley took my dear old dad to the Dallas Museum of Natural History. They had diorama after diorama of "Animals of the Plain States", Nature from here to N Dakota, and all dad's boy hood stomping grounds. Farms mainly.

He'd shot one of most every thing now standing glare eyed and plaster stuffed behind those glass walls.

" I shot that in 19 and _ _ . " became something we eventually asked him not to say.

I do. Mostly birds like pheasant, but some big game.

Hunting has been a way of life for me for 40 years. Dove, Quail, Chuckar in the early fall are great. Opening day for pheasant in Kansas, then Nebraska and South Dakota are regular stops. Upland game until waterfowl season hits, then big goose decoy spreads followed by river duck hunts. The conservation season for white geese ends in late spring, and through it all, lots of birds.....

Plus, IMO, If you aint drinking, you aint mowing.

here is the badge on my sleeve...but...I can get all the food I want at the grocery store, I grew up on a ranch and don't have a problem harvesting animals...aside from taking a few friends a year out that want to shoot birds the most dangerous thing I shoot animals with is my Nikon D70.... <---this poster is a dirty hippy tree and fish hugger....

I'll hunt public land squirrels every year and try to kill a couple of does for the freezer. We eat so much deer meat that my wife's last blood test showed elevated levels of iron. I guess I should be glad its not lead.

I have not duck hunted since I moved to Athens. I think I dove hunted once, but it's just not the same when all your friends and family have gone their separate ways.

Killing hogs is not hunting, it should be considered everbody's duty. You folks in Dallas think you have problems with the coyotes and bobcats, just wait till the hogs move in.

I've had some great hunts over the years, but fishing just takes the edge off so much better.

A man after my own heart! I love to fish as well, but not as much as hunting...but it is a very close 2nd.

Amen. We have only seen the tip of the iceberg. It is the fate of my career to spend a lifetime waging war against the feral pig; we'll need all the help we can get.
