Why don't we get Shakey to clarify what he meant by "small pockets of water" so we can get this pee-pee contest over with.

He clarified it on page 9.

I live on a small lake (6000 acres) that holds an evening tourney every other Thursday that averages about 85 teams, 300 to 400 hundred fish are released at the ramp after every tourney, in 8 years of fishing the tourney I do not know of a single tourney that has been won around that ramp and there are 30 or more docks within half a mile .

I'll take what I can get. grin

It's unethical, not immoral. IMHO

Is someone out there doing this or is this much to do about nothing. Some people will look for any reason for losing to not face the fact that they not as good as they thought. IMHO

Someone of prominence was supposedly busted at Tawakoni for catching fish and putting them inside a chain link fenced area that was in the lake behind a house a few years ago.

A small pocket of water would have to be a pond for this to work. Too many studies have shown that fish move.

Most tourneys I used to fish long ago prohibited fishing any marina w/gas pumps, so as to prevent participants from fishing locations where bass are typically released from tournaments. That is because most of those fish do not relocate from the area in the immediate short term after release.

In fact, B.A.S.S. did not start changing their methods of releasing tournament bass until the late eighties. They used to release at the weighin site but changed that to moving the release boat back out into different areas of the lake. To prevent concentrations of bass that are easily caught. Bass that are relocated are easier to catch then resident bass.

I have fished behind tournaments at Buggs Island Lake and it was common knowledge where to fish after major professional bass tournaments for many years. Bass relocated will eventually migrate out, and once you discover the migratory route (you already know the release location), you can target them easy by fishing the best cover encountered for that migration route.
