My trailer is more like a little house...loft, and all the comforts of home...one of the great things is the ac/heat set up and the high vaulted ceilings....LOVE IT!

We have looked at those park models and some are not cheap at all. Actually found out a killer lot came open near the ramp where we are so we are switching over to it ASAP. Its getting harder to come home everytime we go to leave. thumb[/quote]

Know what you mean about coming home. Really miss having the rv on the waterfront but we had to take it on the road for work and give up the spot a few years ago. Now we have to rent a motel, totaled the rv last fall on the trip home and haven't replaced it. Good news is we bought a couple of lots off 515 and will be building a house there next couple of years...and won't ever have to leave!

We are trying to get moved out that way as well. I've had plenty of DFW living to last a while. We are still up in the air about building or buying a place already there. We are looking at a year minimum and four years max before we are there full timer but its coming.

Looks like we will eventually all be neighbors Lord willing..you are a lot closer than I am! Got another 10 minimum.

The Park Model will have to work...and its not too tough trust me!

Fork Fishin Fan...glad you survived the RV total for sure! Thats how I ended up with a place at Fork...drove my RV out to stay the weekend....had a major blow out... skeered the shiat out of me...bought a trailer around a margarita machine in 99 and sold the motor home...never looked back!

Anyway...

When we rented our spot at Paradise we were told that you could not live there full time. We don't. But I know a few who do.

We love it there. But it sure does hurt to write that $2000 check once a year.

What would be wrong with buying your RV lot instead of renting? Reason is ask is, a buddy of mine bought a place on White Oak Shores, and it seems a pretty nice place to stay-many are full time residents, and have their own sewer system. It's a nice, quiet place to relax, for sure.

I did not want to make the commitment of ownership. Did not want the hassle of trying to sell if I had to.

I believe that you can only stay a certain number of days per month. I want to say it is 26 but not positive. I have heard it said that it is an SRA rule and also heard that each park is different.

krawlin - husband was pulling the 5th wheel, i was following in another vehicle and watched him cross 4 lanes of traffic on I10, crossed 2 medians and service road, finally came to a stop in an empty parking lot for big rigs. When he started to veer into the other lane, I kept thinking he was going to correct but he didn't. He choked on some bottled water and blacked out...what saved him was the Ford 350 he was driving and the Good Lord. Truck was totaled too but he was unharmed. 5th wheel looked like a bomb had hit it...nothing left but to gather some of our belongings off the service road. He clipped a car and boat but and it's a miracle the other parties weren't seriously injured and he wasn't hit head on by 18 wheeler, there was lots of traffic that day. I still get weirded out thinking about what could have happened. It wasn't luck but a higher power at work.

That was a GOD thing there!!! Wow what an experience.

I had sevreral close call in my motor home and decided a parked trailer was better for me!

All I need is Lake Fork anyway!

Andy, I spent an hour shuffling paper work from the SRA and could not find the rules...but I believe you 26 day thing is about right. To me this sounds like a great Bar discussion...I am gonna try to twist Camerons arm to get him up there this week some time...I will be in the area all week.

Parks do have the right to set their own rules as well which is understandable.

If you are buying a lot...you are not buying lease back (below elevation 412 ft), you are buying deeded property (theres a big difference). Lease back land is not for sale, its owned by the SRA, leased to the adjacent land owner for a fee.

I should, but I don't want to quote the SRA when I don't have the paperwork in front of me.

Can't imagine him working anyway...most recent survey said Chris Sinkey works harder...and that scares me. Has good food and an awesome staff though smile
