This spring was one of the best years for BIG Crappie on Lewisville that I remember in a long time.

Now all I can catch are dinks. Shallow, deep, timber, brush, bridges, doesn't seem to matter.

Yesterday morning two of us caught over 120 crappie, 4' deep to 25' deep, only a handfull of keepers. Sure it was fun but 9" fish get boring after a while.

I know the lake has the big fish in it but...where are they?

On a brighter note, it was a great day to be fishing. Calm, cool, cloudy and fish eager to bite everywhere we tried.

I'm glad to hear it ain't just me. At least it's still fun being out on the lake.

Yesterday was nice in compare to the previous week...much cooler
Glad you got a chance to rip them Ernest due to the under 100's weather morning... You weren't a bad boy and stayed longer than 5hrs per the Dr. order, were you? hehehe
Where all the big one?...wow...been asking the same thing...
However, I noticed that when I was down there at CC on Sunday...
The bites were aggressive in the morning with a little breeze; then when the wind stop with glass-like surface, they stopped as well. The funny thing was, when it was hard to catch them as the wind stopped, I was catching the bigger ones (very nice batch of big slabs), but the bites were so light that most would gone unoticed...

Same story on Ray-Bob.....all undersized with a few keepers on my favorite brush piles. What's going on?

I'm afraid I have worn that lie out.
I messed up and posted about LMBs too many times too
then Ish came to town and it got really popular then.
I was on the lake watching him win the BassMasters that day.
He was in my spot catching spots! hammer

I caught 11 fish on granbury in the heat of the day last friday... 3 of them just short of 10 inches, 8 under 6 inches! Looked more like catfish bait than anything.

I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

Wow Ernest, we have all been waiting on you to jump in and let us know what we were doing wrong and what pattern to look for/try to catch the big ones. juggle

You are da' man you know flehan

I'm sure you have seen this happen to the local lakes before - right?

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

They took a bus to CC under the bridges. grin

Yesterday was nice, I was lucky enough to have already planned on fishing and the weather cooperated so well. It was a pleasure, did get hot before I got off the water, as usual I stayed too long. Wish I could set a limit and stick to it. I always rag myself out. Then I have to clean fish when I get home.

Good luck tomorrow on CC, wish I had found your post earlier. Dang! Missed fishing with you again.

I thought it was me...I fished the west side of RR today and nothing but 7-9 inch fish...I caught maybe 30 fish with 3 or 4 barely keepers...They are on the BP's you just have to check their ID's...Didn't catch a fish on the 3002 bridges...

I did get most of the BP's on the west side remarked tho...

They are all safely vacuum packed in my freezer. food

You need to modify your tactics. Smaller fish are much more aggressive than larger fish. thumb
