I own 8 carrot sticks. I have broken 1 on the hookset. The 87% rate is flawed because many of the rods were never bought at Cabelas. I have ordered all 8 online and can promise you people take theirs back to Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops to create this flawed 87%. They do break but not at that rate. 1 out of 8 for me so far and they are all over a year old.

I have 3 Carrot Stix and have had 2 break. Guess that is 66%. I have had both replaced with minimal hassle (over the counter) and haven't had a break since. Have had them for about a year now. I guess actually I have had 5 with 2 breaking that would be more like 40%.

BPS cannot keep them on the shelf they are selling so fast, they said a few come back but they just replace it with a new one. I have broke other rods that did not do that.

no complaining here, just stating the facts. i don't mind promoting a good product but i think 87 percent return speaks for itself. Did this rod break as you were swinging a fish into the boat?
Did you high stick the blank (grab the rod in the middle) when landing the fish?
Some higher end rods are made with thinner blanks for better sensitivity and will break if high sticked... not blaming it on You... just asking?

I can vouch for SFAbassguy, we fished together last night and I watched him set the hook on 4 or 5 very large fish with the carrot stick with no problems.

Posted this a couple weeks ago.Went to return mine which broke into four pieces the other day to Bass Pro Shops and when I got to the customer service desk a guy was standing in line to return his broken carrot.Manager said they have had a very large amount of them being returned broken. He offered me store credit,I took it and ran because my broken Carrot Stix % is 100.2 for 2 with very little fish caught on either.Something has to be wrong.

My partner broke one yesterday while we were prefishing; he set the hook on a 'swimmer.'
The word he has heard is the Extra heavy, heavy rods are the ones breaking.....bad batch is all it is.
I like my two and have had no problems. These are good people they will make it right.

I know the managers at Cabelas in Ft. Worth and I doubt very seriously there is an 87% "Return Rate" on those rods or they would have pulled them a long time ago. I did get told that they do have a lot of the non-GOLD series returned due to breaking or people just don't like them. I bought 2 recently since they were on sale for $50 off...YES $50 bucks off...they put about 20 out one day and they were gone as fast as you can imagine. I have already taken one back and will likely take the other back as well. 87% failure rate for any product would instantly get it pulled from retail shelves simply for "damage control" with good customers. My two cents.
