Before you go out and buy a Carrot Stik think about this. I returned mine broken yesterday to Cabelas. When I approached the counter everyone behind the counter laughed and said "there's another one". They gave me store credit for it and I spent it on something else so thanks to them for that. Before I left I asked what the return rate for the Carrot Stix was and they said, are you ready for this, "87 percent". An 87 percent return rate on anything is crazy. Just thought i'd let you guys know.

I was there when he broke it in half, get this it was a 2.5 lb fish, but he did get the fish, If it had been a big fish he would have lost it for sure. Then the real sick feeling would have came in.

well i'm not gonna argue about it, if you like them that's great. i hope yours never breaks but i think with Cabelas having an 87 percent return rate the odds are not in your favor. mine didn't break right off the bat either.

my partner broke one of these while reeling in a 8 +. It did not break on the hook set, it broke when the fish was 3/4 of the way to the boat. I have seen rods of all kinds break on the hook-set or shortly after, but not when the fish is almost to the boat in open water.

no complaining here, just stating the facts. i don't mind promoting a good product but i think 87 percent return speaks for itself.

I aint complaining either, but I am certainly gonna investigate any product I am considering spendin a substantial amount of money on. I was seriously considering one of the new carrot stick fly rods, but will probably go with something else , I currently use rods from St Croix and I am extremely pleased with them (is that enough promotin' ?)

You should be able to google and find countless problems on every brand if people are being honest. I broke a G-Loomis the other day and a Cumara last year. I'm certainly not going to stop fishing G-Loomis b/c of the breakage.

I've had my carrot stick for 2 years, and have set the hook on some big fish, swung some in I probably shouldn't of and set the hook on countless trees and rocks with no issues.

I find it hard to believe that any company could stay in business with a 87% failure rate and I would also question why Cabela's would continue carrying such a product.
