The Humble Inn north of Houston use to have CFS that would hang off both sides of the plate and was really good.

I travel the state during football season as part of my part time job. I eat CFS, BBQ, and Meskin food everywhere. Hands down, the best Chicken Fry is Mary's in Strawn. Big arse Shiners washes it down perfectly. Goodsons in Tomball is a pretty close second btw. For anyone in the metroplex, Nates in Addison off Beltline and Midway (I normally go for the crawfish) has a Highroller CFS. Its incredible. Basically, they pound the h*ll out of a ribeye and chicken fry it.

Tel Wink Grill is awesome! Great breakfast too!!
The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

Hill Country Cupboard in Johnson City. I am heading to Dallas in a few weeks so I may have to go out of the way a bit and hit up Mary's.

After reading all the posts on here about Mary's in Strawn, I loaded up the wife and 3 boys for a road trip yesterday. It is an hour and a half drive from where we live and I have to say it was WELL worth the trip. The wife and I both ordered the large CFS and had plenty left for dinner (and breakfast for the wife) later on. We will definitely be going back! Thanks for hooking us up!

Made the hour and a half drive to Strawn to try out Mary's CFS. On a scale of 1 - 10 for flavor I'd give it an [color:#CC0000]8. I was very pleased with the flavor of the CFS but it was a little dried out. On a scale of 1 - 10 for crispiness I'd give it a [color:#CC0000]4. The CFS was a bit on the mushy side. On a scale of 1 - 10 for portion I'd give it a [color:#CC0000]10. I had the medium and it was a very hefty portion for the price. For the fries, I'd give it a [color:#CC0000]5. There were crispy enough but a bit on the cold, stale side.
Overall, experience would be a 6.7
I doubt if I will return.
On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?

I am surprised to here that you probably won't go back. Who do you think has the best CFS?

Anyone had the CFS at Wilie's in the Houston area? We were at teh one at I-45 and HWY 242 the other day. We always get a burger, but a guy at the next table got a CFS and the thing was just HUGE!
