He'll get back with you. I fish a whole line up of Pro Anglers and have had nothing but success with them. Yesterday on RR I had an 8' in my lap while I was putting a band-aid on my finger, the jig was in the water and got hung up. By the time I realized what was going on the rod was in a BIG "U" shape, I hit the thumb bar on the reel and released tension and then broke the line. No damage done but impressive performance IMHO from a $30 rod.....

Ed says to try a different line. WM line has too much memory.

Try P-Line CX or Gamma co-poly in 6#.

Just maybe it could be the way you put the line on the reel, sometimes they put the line on the spools backwards. You are suppose to put the line on with the lable facing up, but sometimes you have to have the lable facing down. To check it put some line on your reel and see if it curls, if so turn the spool over and it should lay straight. Thought to me by Guy Skinner it works for me.

I talked with Ed and It is either the tip or the line. I think your bashing ProAngler before you know what is going on. Does it do this all the time or just when you are shooting jigs? Could be as simple as some sorry line or could be the tip has a spot you can't see or feel. I try some other line first if not, I'll havce Ed send you a tip section. It that doesn't work you can bash us then.

I think this happens when we wind the jig up too far into the eye. Or use the rod to get the jig unhung down in the water. Just my 2 cents worth, spend it wisely. thumb[/quote]

+1 It happens to mine and I have a bad habit when moving from spot to spot to reel the jig all the way to the eye and I do think it damages the end eyelet. Never thought of that until you mentioned it!

I have NOT bashed the rod at all. In fact I complemented the rod in my original post. I like the rod and now after talking to Ed, believe that the problem is probably the line. Ed recomended Vicious line and I ordered a spool yesterday. I hope that the better line is the answer. The tip of this rod has no defects but it is a much smaller radious in the turn the line must make than my other rods. Line with high memory may curl when better line with low memory may not. It is an experiment that I will conduct next weekend if the Vicious line comes in on time.

I have had trouble with light weight 6 lb stren and my proangler rods. It's a combination of memory, SS guides, and reel type. I usually use spinning reels on my crappie gear and that seems to compound the problem with my setup. I also have another rod setup with power pro and love it. I'll call Ed up and talk with him.

I recieved my ProAngler dock shooter last week and used it a couple of days since. I've put it in the stack of "extras" because I can't get any distance with it. It's too stiff for me. Sorry Ed, but that's my observation.

Ok...got my Vicious 6# Hi-vis line on a brand new Shamano Syncopate 1000 spinning reel on my new 8' Pro-Angler rod. Its 9:30am Friday morning and I should be fishing Big Sam by noon.
I'll let you know next week the results.

Let us know how the Vicious works for ya'. I tried Vicious but have ended up using Gamma co-poly on all my spinning reels.
