Curly, got a great spot to net the big gizzard. They are finally move'n in were i got them in years past. I've yet to use any live bait this year...the flukes have been holding up well so far.

Yesterday they hammered the Flukes 5 to one over live bait. Watching the winds for this weekend. I got two boys wanting to catch big hybrids. Sanbass, I saw you out there in that red/black skeeter. Now we know, stop in and say hello. I was catching them off that point where you saw me, they liked 17' water, and I was fishing 15' deep. My anchor was not heavy enough to hold me on that point with the winds we had, so my trolling motor got a good workout going back and forth over that area.

Wife and I fish in a 16' Fish n' Ski camo green center console with 55hp evin. Usually have dual down riggers. Haonestly say I have not been on the main lake this year. Had too much fun on the Neches above teh lake this spring and crappie in Kickapoo...
May make our first main lake run today or tomorrow. 155 is our best spot with our lake best 10.75 and 11.9
Good Fishing! "Jig & Pig"

I fish Palestine, but focus North of the 155. I found some good top water action just before dark on Tuesday up North...The only day without wind last week. Nothing of any size though.
It is tough for me to handle the big winds we've had this year, so I haven't been able to do much serious fishing.

Well, I tried Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I sat in my boat with the wife waiting for the rain to stop until about 10:30 am when we went to breakfast. Came back near noon and trid the 155 bridge area without much luck. Saw a couple of you guys!
Sunday got into some hybrids in Saline bay and had fun! Quit around 10:30 - 11.

She's a trooper. We were however sitting in the boathouse under cover, and it cost me breakfast at The Diner off of Hwy .69

I fish Palestine frequently from April to July. My favorite spot is Chimney on the point in June. Last Saturday I got pounded by waves at 155. I am thinking about putting in south by dam this weekend as I will be taking out friends from Dallas. (my city friends get scared when the wind blows)

Anyone from DFW must be blindfolded on the way to Lake Palestine and the lake must be refered to as CC or Tawonk while you are on the water . Mo

Its been at its best here lately. ROUGH!! SE & NW winds 20+ might as well stay home.

I have enjoyed reading about the various techniques used to catch the hybrids and sandbass (whitebass). My favorite technique is vertically jigging a 3/4 oz spoon. iuse the 7" magnum fluke on largemouth bass, watermelon red has produced best for me fished weightless; I look forward to trying them for hybrids. Thanks
