Can you name the 6 countries from all over the USA?
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

Awesome photos! What a beautiful fish. So cool to have a good friend catch the new state record, too. Congrats KC!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Can you catch something like that in a private pond/lake and register it as a record? There is a private pond in ellis Co. that I fish all the time that has TWO carp in it that I have seen that are atleast 6-12" bigger than that one.

There is a private pond in ellis Co. that I fish all the time that has TWO carp in it that I have seen that are atleast 6-12" bigger than that one. Are you sure those aren't White Amur? ( Also known as Grass Carp ) Unlike Common Carp, White Amur eat mostly vegetation, so they are often stocked in private ponds to help keep the weeds down. They grow fast, and get really big. They also tend to be a bit longer, and slimmer then common carp, so a white Amur over 40lbs would be a lot longer then a common carp over 40lbs. As far as the record itself, I don't think you could get a state record from a private body of water, just a Private Water record or whatever it's called.
