Awesome cover photo this month and a better story to go with it...KC aka Built2layframe caught a new state record carp at this this years Austin Team Championship held on Lady Bird Lake, Formally Town Lake its the first lake in the country to my knowledge to be managed by the state as a trophy carp fishery...the new state record he caught was a recapture of the Fish Al St Cyr caught in 2006 during the Texas Carp Challenge that won him $250,000 so it is really a testament to catch and release fishing and proof that Lady Bird Lake is a special place...this year we had teams representing I believe 6 country's from all over the USA. Enjoy the photos and Congrats to KC on a awesome fish! First photos are the proof of the recapture! AWESOME! KC with "Rose" its a named fish! and now the New state record!  Al with the same fish from 2006 that won him the $250,000  And now just some more photos... That's incredible.
So let me make sure I got this correct, he caught the fish the first time in 2006 and won 250,000 and then again in 2009 and got the new state record...

In 2006, the American Carp Society held a fishing tournament in Austin with an award of $250,000 going to anyone who caught a carp that weighed more than the Texas state record: http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Issue/story?oid=oid:606181

Why cant they pay me $250,000 for catching Bass. But that is a huge carp congrats to the guy that caught it.

it was a insurance company that did that back in 06 to back that tourny, Al ST CYRE (SP) caught that fish and won the money.
